Hey y’all. The Back Alley String Band has two free outdoor gigs coming up fast.
On Saturday, Aug. 4, we will play at a music festival in Milwaukie. The Thiessen Hill Community Festival will feature live music, food, games, fun and neighborhood connection. The festival happens from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. at the Oak Hills Presbyterian Church, 5101 S.E. Thiessen Road, Milwaukie, OR 97267. We’ll be out on the church lawn. The band starts at 1 p.m. and will play two sets, ending about 3 p.m. The festival is free and open to the public.
On Tuesday, Aug. 7, the band will play a reprise performance at Portland’s Laurelhurst Park. We played last year for the Laurelhurst Neighborhood Association, and they liked it so much they asked us to come on back this year. It’s free and open to the public. We’ll start our first set around 5:30 p.m. and will play two hour-long sets. Park on Southeast Ankeny Street and look for the stage set up in the fir grove somewhere between Southeast Laurelhurst Place and Southeast Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
