The Back Alley String Band is six people, each with his or her own taste and talents. The rhythm section is Gabe Adoff on string bass, Michael Tevlin, guitar, and Gareth Tabor, guitar and dobro. On banjo is Jim Clark. Janet Tabor plays mandolin. And Juliana Trivers bows the fiddle. Gabe is the newest member of the band and brings a rich musical background from his roots in Montana. Michael played rock, blues and jazz before bluegrass. Gareth “Doc” Tabor is a great fingerpicking guitarist and has already become a journeyman dobro player. Jim What-Would-Earl-Do Clark channels Earl Scruggs. Janet is the chanteuse who loves 30s and 40s swing. And Juliana? (That would be Dr. Trivers.) She’s the one that gets an ovation every time she plays a fiddle solo. Hey, what other band has two doctors? We’re covered for any medical or musical emergency.
